Educated in Waterville schools, Wally began his working career with the Waterville Public Works for about a year and half before he was hired as a guard at the Winslow paper companies. He retired at age 55, from what was then Scott Paper Company.
Wally loved fishing, whether it was ice fishing or in the spring fishing area brooks or ponds. In the early summer, he enjoyed taking his sons to Ellis Sporting Camps in Greenville.
His family will remember him as an extremely hard worker often times working more than one job to provide for his family. He also enjoyed gardening. Wally would start April 2 every year with his little homemade greenhouse. A weed was never found in any of his gardens.
Wally loved his grandchildren tremendously.
The family would like to thank Lakewood Manor for the wonderful care they gave to Wally.
He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette (Veilleux) Bizier; and eight brothers and sisters, Marybelle, Frita, Carmen, Cecile, Elmer, Leo, Arthur, and Ferdenand "Jake".
Surviving are two sons, Paul Bizier and his wife, Linda, and Michael Bizier and his wife, Evelyn; five grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterville. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Wally's memory be made to the Kennebec Valley Trout Unlimited, c/o Jim Thibodeau, 42 Oakland St., Waterville, ME 04901. (Morning Sentinel 1/7/2006)
