Richard Duane Angell Sr, 53, died on Saturday at St Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services at Stewart Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. The Rev John Malone, pastoral minister at St Luke's Hospital officiating. Military services by American Legion Hanford Post 5. Burial in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include, his wife, Roberta; two sons, Richard Jr and Keith, both of Solon; two daughters, Linda Hansel of Anamosa and Tina Covington of Mt Vernon; a brother, William of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Gertrude Hamilton of Cedar Rapids and Donna Clayton of Liscomb; and six grandchildren.

He was born on March 18, 1939, in Iowa City, the son Oliver and Marie Currier Angell. He married Roberta Brott on May 11, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. He served with the Navy and was a member of Laborers Union Local 43.
