LOMBARDI, ALBERT D., 90, of Old Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, passed away February 8th. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Elizabeth (Iannetta) Lombardi and had been the husband of Virginia P. (Iannelli) Lombardi for 66 years.
Mr. Lombardi was the founder, owner and operator of Luxury Cleaners. He was a life member and a Hall of Fame inductee of the Wanskuck Boys Club. He had also served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
He was the father of Mayor Charles A. Lombardi and his wife Carol, Elizabeth J. Lanni and her husband Edward; grandfather of Charles "Chuck" Lombardi and his wife Kim, Tarra Ferrara and her husband Alan, Edward "E.J." Lanni and Joshua Lanni; great-grandfather of Sloane Jacqueline; brother of Elena Mancini and the late Gerald and Anthony Lombardi, Amalia Ruggiero, Anita Renzi and Rose Amitrano; father-in-law of the late Jacqueline Lombardi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by private entombment with Military Honors in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fruit Hill Day Care Center, 399 Fruit Hill Avenue, North Providence, RI 02911.
