Services for James W. "Buck" Young, age 71, of Pauls Valley will be at 2 p.m. at the Stufflebean Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. James Quinton. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean Funeral Home.
James W. "Buck" Young was born August 25, 1926, in Civit, OK, to Wesley and Mamie (Pierce) Young. He died Monday, December 8, 1997, at his residence.
He was a carpenter and retired from the Pauls Valley State School in 1990. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. He had lived in this area all of his life. He married Ruby Catherine Hatley on January 24, 1950.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Ruby C. Young, of the home in Pauls Valley; 1 son, James Garette Cottrell of Lexington; 2 daughters; Girley Lobaugh and Betty Hanner, both of Pauls Valley; 2 brothers: Raymond Young of Noble and Gene Young of Carrollton, TX; 2 sister, Nita Dutton of Lindsay; his mother, Mamie Young of Pauls Valley; 4 grandchildren: Elizabeth Lobaugh, Chris Lobaugh, Andrew Lobaugh and Mariah Cottrell, all of Pauls Valley; many children who have lived in their home and they helped raise; and numerous nieces and nephews."
