PENDLETON — Robert W. Crawford Sr., 57, of Pendleton died Sunday, March 6, 2011, in Pendleton. A dressing ceremony will begin Tuesday, March 8 at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Washat services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Longhouse in Mission. Sunrise services will begin Wednesday, March 9 at 7 a.m. in the Longhouse and burial will follow in the Agency Cemetery in Mission.
Mr. Crawford was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Pendleton to Leo and Ernestine (Watters) Crawford. He was raised and educated in Pendleton. He married Marie Dave in 1979 in Pendleton.
He worked in road construction and on the gas pipeline across the Blue Mountains. He also worked for the tribal grain elevator for a time. For more than 20 years he worked as a landscape supervisor for the Confederated Tribes.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife Marie of Pendleton; children Lori Crawford of Forest Grove and Leo Crawford, Robert Crawford Jr., Joseph Crawford and Cecelia Crawford, all of Pendleton; brother Alan Crawford of Mission; sister Marian Crawford of Pendleton; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carol Kirk.
