Ivan "Ike" E. King, 77, of 840 Third Ave, Marion, died Sunday afternoon in his home. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, where friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Surviving are his wife, Edith; a son, [private]; a daughter, [private]; and a brother, Allan of Stark City, Mo.
Also surviving are four grandchildren [private]
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell.
Born the son of Walter and Alice Meyers King on May 11, 1916, in Marion, he married Edith Patterson on Aug. 29, 1948, in Washington, Iowa. Ike was a career heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers. he retired in 1978. Before entering the Army during World War II, he worked on the Alaska-Canadian Highway. He was a member of American Legion Marion Post 298 and Operating Engineers Local 234.
The Rev. Jay Miller will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice of Camp Courageous.
