Carl was the 9th child of 11 children born to Margaret(Fitzgerald) and Sylvester Barron. He moved with the family to Idaho to homestead. At 17, he was working as a lineman and fell to his death. He never married and had no children. He was the third child lost to Margaret and Sylvester. After his death the family gave up the homestead. It bothered his Mom so to "leave him behind in Idaho" when the family returned to Iowa.
