Thomas Andrew Holland, 1134 Lincoln Ave, passed away at 1:50 o'clock this morning at Dunn Memorial Hospital, where he entered Aug 19. In ailing health for several years, he had been critically ill the past week. He was 76.
The son of William A and Mary Katherine Thomas Holland, he was born in Leesville on Feb 11, 1874. He married Lizzie L Beall on Sep 16, 1898, in Walton, IN.
Mr Holland was from a pioneer Lawrence County family. His ancestors came to Bono in 1820. He was formerly owner of the Diamond Roller Flour Mill and General Store at Ft Ritner, and also operated general stores in Stonington and Lawrenceport.
Surviving: his wife, two sons, Ray ll Holland of Indianapolis and Thomas F Holland of Los Angeles, CA.
A daughter, Mrs Marguerite H Rector of Savannah, GA.
Three grandsons, Thomas Lee Holland and James Holland Rector and Philip G Rector.
A sister, Mrs Olive Consalus of Bedford.
Mr Holland was a member of Cedar Lodge F. & A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star, both of Leesville; he also belonged to the Bedford Knights of Pythias and the Travellers' Protective Association. Wednesday this week, he had received his 25 year membership pin in the Masonic Lodge.
Masonic services will be given at the grave in Green Hill Cemetery.
