Son of S. John Warren (b. 1776 Amherst, Va d. 1863 Itawamba Co., MS.) and Sarah Robinson (b. South Carolina). Brother of Dr. Napoleon Warren. This is verified in the 1850 Itawamba County, MS Census.

A. Warren married T. Jane Wood on April 23, 1867 in Itawamba County, MS. The story goes that T. Jane died in Hayti, MO. and is buried there.

The 1880 Itawamba County, MS Census gives A. as Alexander Warren age 34 and widowed. He had 6 children. Their children are: James age 12, Sarah age 10, Tirrenia age 7, Mittie age 6, Oct age 3, and Gertrude age 1.

Alex, age 65, secondly married Mary Hamblin, age 16, on January 3, 1888 and had 9 more children. He died when his youngest son was 2 years old. Youngest son, Monroe Warren was born in 1905 so that means he died in 1907. He and a son are buried in the Marietta Cemetery, Prentiss County, MS., but there are no monuments. The little boy was killed by a well windlass hitting him when drawing water. Two children were born dead and there were 6 others: John H., Wilma (Married a Barnes), Robert, Jessie Mae, George and Monroe Warren (b. 1905)

The 1900 Union County, Ms Census gives A. Warren (b. Dec., 1839) with wife Mary (b. April, 1870) married 12 years with these children: Mittie L.(b. Aug. 1882), Geney O. (Octavia) (b. April, 1884), Wilma (b.June, 1891) John H. (b. Nov., 1893), Robert E. (b. June, 1895), Jessie M.(b.Jan., 1897), George W. (b. July, 1899)

Then, Monroe was born in 1905 and not shown in a census with his father because Alexander died before the next census of 1910.

NOTICE: THE CUT OUT CIRCLE PHOTO POSTED ON ANCESTRY.COM AS ALIC WARREN IS NOT OF ALIC, AS HE WAS ALREADY DECEASED. THIS WAS CUT OUT OF A 1908 HAMBLIN FAMILY REUNION PHOTO. HOWEVER, HIS WIFE, MARY IS IN THE PHOTO SITTING NEXT TO HER FATHER, BOB HAMBLIN AND HER MOTHER , REAN HAMBLIN. Bob Hamblin is mistakenly identified as Alic Warren!
