Calif. Services Held July 26 For Mrs. John Landis
Funeral services for Florence Estella Landis, 87, of Ivanhoe, Calif., former Memphis resident, were held in Miller Memorial Chapel at Visalia, Calif., on Wednesday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment was in Visalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Landis passed away July 26, in a Visalia hospital.
A native of Reno, Mrs. Landis was reared and attended schools here in Memphis. She was united in marriage to John B. Landis in Texas in 1903. Mr. Landis, who preceded her in death in 1933, was County Treasurer of Hall County for eigth [sic] years prior to his death. One son and one daughter also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Landis stayed in Texas until moving to Ivanhoe in 1941. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ivanhoe.
She is survived by one son, William R. Landis of Visalia; one brother, Wallace Lawrence of Plainview; one grandson and several nices [sic] and nephews.
