Carl Leslie Ormsbee, 86, son of Oliver Amos and Cora Belle Ormsbee, was born September 13, 1895 at Plato, Missouri. He died August 22, 1982, at Madison Eden House in Yakima, Washington.
He married Mable Olentha Carter August 30, 1917 at Roby, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and following his discharge, the family farmed in Missouri until moving to Yakima in 1946. He worked in the fruit industry for a time and then worked for Tahoma Cemetery until retiring in 1962.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and was a member of Mount Adams Masonic Lodge No. 227.
He is survived by one son, Ernest of Independence, MO; four daughters, Ruby Leach of Yakima, Lillie Fulks of Sullivan, MO, Jeretta Huey of Yakima, and Florene Washburn of Warrensburg, MO; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rolland Ormsbee of Tulsa, OK; and two sisters, Olive Bayes of Tucson, AZ and Martha Brandon of Springfield, MO.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Mable; one son Leroy and one daughter Ethel Marie, died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Burial will be in Tahoma Cemetery.
