Son of Mary McManis and Joseph Tedrow. He belonged to Co. K Tenth Illinois Infantry and was in training camp when the Civil War ended, so never saw active service. Married to Maria Anglemire on 15 Jun 1862 in Will Co. IL. Rettie Tedrow Zirkle said, "Father was a kind-hearted man; quiet, unassuming, proud of his family. He was a carpenter by trade. When that business was slow, he found plenty of work in various other lines. He was very concious of his responsibility for the support of our large family." They had 10 children: Ida, Wilbur, Lola, Belle, Burton, Addie, Arthur, Ettie, Rettie, Millie.
