Barbara McLellan of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Milestones Private Care Home in Orange.

Barbara was born on October 29, 1932 in Arp, TX. She is survived by her three brothers, Clark Norman (Kay) McLellan, Jr., of Baton Rouge, LA; Archie (Laqueta) McLellan of Orange, TX; and David (Nancy) McLellan, of Pflugerville, TX. She was instrumental in the rearing of her nieces, Norma (Bill) McLellan, of Houston, TX, and Sue (Dannie) Simons, of Horseshoe Bay, TX; and her nephew Robert McLellan, of Baton Rouge, LA.

She is also survived by nephews, Dennis Garrison, Bryan Garrison, Samuel McLellan, Marcus McLellan, Brent McLellan and Clark McLellan III, as well as eleven great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark Norman and Ettie McLellan.

Barbara moved to Orange, Texas in 1942. She attended Lutcher Stark High School where she was a member of the Bengal Guards. Upon graduation in 1950, she went to work at Weaver Shipyard, where she worked until it closed. In 1985, she began work for Lester Winfree Rice and Cattle Company and worked there until the time of her death.

Barbara was an active member of First United Methodist Church since 1942, where she served on numerous church committees and boards. She was also active on the board with the Heritage House of Orange, TX. Barbara had a strong love and devotion to her church and its members as well as to her community. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her including her Sheltie, Bella.

Visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Orange at 11:30 a.m. on Monday with the Reverend Rob Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her nephews, Brent McLellan, Clark McLellan, Samuel Clark McLellan, Marcus McLellan, Robert McLellan, and Bryan Garrison.
