Alta Rowse Tanner, died peacefully Friday, July 9, 1999.
Born August 13, 1907 in Montello, Nevada. She married Douglas Floyd Tanner, December 27, 1929, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Survived by Joyce (Robert) Stalnaker, Joan (Paul) Shrum, Floyd (JoAnn) Tanner, Gayle (Ken) Cromer, Bruce (Stephanie) Tanner, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Douglas Floyd Tanner, Jr. and her husband.
Mother's life was one of service to family and friends. She was an active member of the LDS church and her testimony was shared with all the way she lived. She was a loving teacher in word and deed.
She loved to cook; many lucky friends and family were recipients of her delicious banana bread, Christmas cookies, and marshmallow brownies. For many years she played the piano for Virginia Tanner Children's Dance Theatre.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the loving care of so many at Wasatch Valley Rehab Center and the Hazen.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 13 at the 11th Ward (951 East 100 South) at 12 noon, with a viewing prior 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. There will also be a viewing Monday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple). Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
