Much could be said about Clinton DeWitt Vernon's work in the temporal world as an attorney of some repute; However in this short bio Marlene Vernon and i have chosen to briefly mention a specific date - A Snapshot of a moment in time- in which a meeting took place; In the home of Clinton D Vernon and family, on Saturday, the 2nd day of August 1969.

The home was located at 2735 Sherwood Drive, in Salt Lake City and the meeting mentioned above was said to have started precisely at 7:53 PM...

This meeting resulted in the organization of the Vernon Family Association of America -VFAA-; 15 Charter members were said to have paid dues at this meeting and they included...
1: Clinton D Vernon-- The Host who conducted the meeting.
2: Mary King Timothy-Selected Chairman of Compilers
3: William A Vernon- Selected President of VFAA
4: Robert G VERNON - Selected Exec Sec/Treasurer
5: Telintha Rasmussen of Roosevelt, Utah

Between This Date of 2 Aug 1969 and prior to 1 Jan 1970 an additional 174 individuals had joined VFAA bringing Charter Membership count to 189. A healthy start for a Genealogical organization-- Would you not agree?

Now to keep this short WE will just go on to mention that in a first issue of VFAA, Pres. Wm A Vernon mentioned 'THE IMMIGRANT'; Who came to the American Colonies shortly after a disastrous London fire of 1666; His name being Daniel Vernon; son of Samuel Vernon who was a direct descendant of Sir Ralph de Vernon' Baron of Shiprock, 'THE OLD LIVER'.

A More recent decendant from this line included a William Vernon, born 17 Jan 1719, who was said to be the greatest benefactor of The College of New Jersey; Later to be known as 'Princeton University'.
