BOONEVILLE -- Julia Carmack Allen, 87, widow of Sam Allen, died yesterday at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services 10 a.m. Saturday at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home. Visitation 5 to 9 p.m. today.

BOONEVILLE, OWSLEY CO. KY – 17 Nov. 1988 – Julia Carmack Allen, 87, Booneville, KY passed away on Nov. 17, 1988 at the Memorial Hospital in Manchester, KY after a long illness. She was a native of Owsley Co., Ky. the widow of Samuel "Sam" Allen & a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by seven daughters, Gladys Murrey, Trenton, OH; Maudie Switzer, Lynchburg, OH; Martha McIntosh, Morrow, OH; Addie Whitlock, Lebanon, OH; Ella Allen, Florence, KY; Betty May & Willa Clancy both of Lebanon, OH; three sons, Ambrose Allen, Luster Allen, & Roscoe Allen all of Frankfort, KY; three sisters, Dora Bishop, Hillsboro, OH; Jane Rocky, Madria, OH; & Fannie Shover, Cincinnati, OH; one brother, John Carmack, Loveland, OH; 26 grandchildren, 20 step grandchildren & several great, great grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Combs, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery (also known as Mistletoe Cemetery). Searcy and Strong Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
