Christine Lee Lewis, 95, of Burgess, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009. She was born in Shiloh, King George County to Thomas E. Lee, Sr. and Elizabeth Garber Lee. She was a retired assistant postmistress and a member of Fairfields Baptist Church, Burgess.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Lee Lewis and a sister, Geraldine Lee McDaniel.
She is survived by a sister; Mary Elizabeth Saunders and husband, Robert, of Alexandria; one brother, T. Eldred Lee Jr. and wife, Nannie, of Fredericksburg;five nieces,Virginia Hudnall and husband Beverly of Heathsville, Pamela Lee McLeod and husband John of Fredericksburg, Shirley Baird and husband Bob of Fredericksburg, Linda Stocks and husband Jerry of Richmond and Mary Lee Fray and husband Paul of Arkansas; six nephews, Thomas E. Lee III and wife Susan of Fredericksburg, Robert C. Lee of Fredericksburg, John G. Lee and wife Brenda of Fredericksburg, James C. Lee and wife Cathy of Fredericksburg, Franklin S. Lee and wife Anna of Fredericksburg, Lester McDaniel and wife Jenny of North Carolina, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Faulkner Family Funeral Home. Burial followed at Fairfields Baptist Church cemetery, Burgess.
