Lenore L. Moffett
83, 9503 Johnson Dr., Merriam, died March 22. She was born in Chicago and lived in Merriam for 80 years. She worked as a clerk in the Kansas City, Mo. post office. She was a charter member of the Merriam Christian Church; a charter member and past-matron of the Beatrice Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Shawnee. She also belonged to the Merriam Music Club, the Fourth Wednesday Study Club, the Merriam Homemakers and Christian Women's Fellowship. She taught the Challenger Class, and was past president of the Merriam P.T.A. She leaves a son, David O. Campbell, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a sister, Charlotte Roebuck, Gardner, Ks.; two half-sisters, Marjorie Davis, Corpus Christie, Tex., and Gertrude Fraser, Shell Knob, Mo.; a brother, Walter Engle, Loveland, Ohio; and nine grandchildren. Services were Sunday, March 25, at the church; burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Shawnee. Arrangements by Amos.
