Emery Hugh Clark, age 85 of Rutledge, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Burlington, Iowa.

He was born on April 27, 1925, at Bible Grove, Missouri, the son of Zion Lester and Alta Arveta Corwin Clark. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Dale Price on November 28, 1948, at Kirksville, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy Clark of Rutledge, Missouri, three children Lester Clark and wife Vicki of Lancaster, Missouri, Kathie McPherson and husband John of Burlington, Iowa, and Larry Clark and wife Kim of Gorin, Missouri, one brother Jerry Clark and wife Diana of Memphis, Missouri, six grandchildren, Brian Clark, Doug McPherson, Julie Arnold, Kimberly Madden, Justin Clark and Danielle Clark, two step grandchildren, Dana Poole and Rob Poole, seven great grandchildren, Sheridan Clark, Riley McPherson, Andrew McPherson, Kolton Clark, Jaxon Clark, Luke Arnold, and Ella Arnold, six step great grandchildren, Jeffrey Rethford, Robert Poole, Austin Poole, Elizabeth Poole, Conner Brakeville and Taylor Brakeville, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Jewel and Milton Price, one brother Ernest Clark, sisters-in-law, Berniece Clark, Norma Clary, Janet Shaw, brothers-in-law Raymond Clary and Harold Shaw, one niece Teresa Johnson, two nephews Mike and Tony Shaw and one great nephew Jason Shaw.

Emery was raised in the Bible Grove community where he received his education graduating from Bible Grove High School. He served his country in the United States Army from October 1950 to November 1956. Emery was engaged in farming and raising cattle west of Rutledge, Missouri most of his life with the exception of the time he spent in Illinois working on a farm before his marriage to Dorothy. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Betsy, his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Officiating the services was Reverend Mike Wilson and Reverend Ernest Deatrick. Burial was in the Harmony Grove Cemetery Southeast of Rutledge, Missouri. Casket bearers were grandsons, Brian Clark, Doug McPherson, Justin Clark, John Dinkel, Cody Arnold and Tony Madden. Honorary bearers were, Julie Arnold, Kimberly Madden, Danielle Clark, Michelle McPherson, Danna Poole, Mike Parrish and Luke Zimmerman.
