Clifton Horace Spindle

Clifton Horace Spindle was born June 20, 1920 in Valley View, Cooke County, Texas to Joe Cephas Spindle and Annie Jo Philpott. He attended the Valley View Schools. On Nov. 16, 1940, he married Verna Ruth Pharr at the Lois Baptist Church near Valley View. He was a retired dairy farmer.

He is survived by wife, Verna Ruth; five daughters, Jeanette Doty of Denton, Sue Luthi of Gainesville, Annette Straubmueller of Port Isabell, Kay Barclay of Valley View and Joye Williams of Sanger; one son, Cliff Spindle of Valley View; three sisters, JoAnn Belz of Valley View, Jewel Dean Odom of Alvord, and Frances Helton of Fort Worth; one brother, Floyd Spindle of Valley View; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Annie Spindle; one grandson, David McFarlin; two grand-daughters, Ashli Spindle and Courtney Smith; brother, Carl Spindle; two sisters Opal Ashcraft and Pearl Alford and one son-in-law, Teddy Barclay.

A visitation will be held at Coker Funeral Home, 403 Pecan Street, Sanger from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, March 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Valley View, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2 pm.Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery.
