Rev. Anton T. West was the son of John and Sally (Slayton) West. He was the husband of Lydia Ann (Brownson) West. They were married in 1842. Lydia died September 29, 19093. Rev. West was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: East Genesee Conference 1850 Discontinued 1852 Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1873 F 1875 East Genesee Conference at reorganization and from East Genesee Conference by consolidation 1876. He served Chatham Mission, PA 1850 - Canton, PA 1851.

The Rochester Democrat makes the following announcement: The Rev. A T. West died at his home in Livonia, Wednesday, aged 75 years. He joined the East Genesee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church on trial in 1847, but was soon compelled to retire from work because of ill health. He resumed his work in 1864; in 1873 he joined the Genesee Conference. In 1880 he was obliged to Superannuate, his health failing. He then located at Livonia, where he has since lived. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Julia Pickett, wife of the Rev. S. D. Pickett, of the Olean District.
