MRS. ZELPHA "ZEE" PICKLOW

Mrs. Zelpha V. "Zee" Picklow, 81, Valley Falls, died May 15, 1988, at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester.

Mrs. Picklow was a registered nurse. She served in the Army Nurses Corps at the rank of second lieutenant during World War II.

She was born Dec. 17, 1906, at Alden, the daughter of James Leroy and Ethel Bradley Barr. She was graduated from Alden High School in 1927 and from Halstead School of Nursing in 1930.

She lived in Wellsville, Mo., from 1961 until 1973 when she moved to Valley Falls. She also had lived three years in West Germany, France, and Japan.

Mrs. Picklow was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge No., 652, and the Auxiliary to Grahem-Herbers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3084, all at Valley Falls. She also was a member of an American Legion Auxiliary unit at Wellsville, Mo.

She was married to Andrew T. Picklow Aug. 1, 1942, at Neosho, Mo. He died May 16, 1977.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill Conser, Valley Falls; two brothers, Lester Barr, Nickerson, and Myrle J. Barr, Wellsville, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Vesta Braden, Sterling; two grandsons, Andy and Justin Conser, Valley Falls; three nephews; and two nieces.

Services were May 18 at Nellis-Hagge Funeral Home, Valley Falls, with the Rev. Wilbur Purvis, United Methodist Church, officiating. Gail Jepson was organist with Rosalind Jackson soloist.

Pall bearers were Glen Shepherd, Bob Pyle, Richard Riley, Kenneth Shepherd, Dr.
Don Stangle, and Dr. Joe Kobuszewski. Burial was in the Valley Falls Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Falls Rescue Squad of Valley Falls Athletic Association.
