Chester R. Axe, 83, of Ronks R2, formerly of 540-1/2 Green St., died at his daughter's home Saturday night after a brief illness. He had lived with his daughter since August. He was the husband of the late Blanche Schlemm Axe, who died in 1971. He had been employed by E.T. Frame Lock Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1961. Axe, a member of the Protestant faith, served in the Pennsylvania National Guard in 1916. Born in Paradise, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Clark Axe. Surviving are his daughter, Helen, wife of Elmer Patterson, Ronks R2, with whom he resided; a son, William Axe, Lancaster; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia, wife of Percy Foreman, Hagerstown, Md.
