Erma Rittenhouse Axe, 82, formerly of 131 E. Ross St., died at Lancaster General Hospital Thursday morning after an illness of several months.
A guest at Lancashire Hall for about one month, she had also lived at Schock Presbyterian Home, Mount Joy.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Cinderella Fisher Rittenhouse.
She retired in 1972 from Longenecker's Drug Store. She was a member of the Lancaster Chapter 501 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, Melvin R. Jacoby of Lancaster and Albert C. Newlin Sr. of Mount Joy; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one brother, Victor Rittenhouse of Lancaster.
