The following is taken from Shades of Gray by William Neil Block:

Dameron, James H. - Lawther's Partisan Rangers - Co. A 1st Mo. Cavalry. Captured in Osage County, Sept 1, 1862 while serving in Captain H. K. Peabody's company. Sent to Alton October 7 and forwarded for exchange January 5. Died of disease while a POW in City General Hospital, St. Louis, MO. January 27, 1863.
