Homer D. Carpenter, 66, of Route 1, Booneville, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis following an extended illness.

Services were Friday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Billy Hudson and Clint Wigginton officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter was a retired frame shop owner and a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene Williams Carpenter; two sons, Gerald Carpenter of Booneville and Marlon Carpenter of Glen; two daughters, Mrs. Helen McAnally and Mrs. Linda Cole, both of Booneville; four brothers, Cleophus Carpenter and C.A. Carpenter; both of Booneville, Jack C. Carpenter of Mantachie and Arlen C. Carpenter of Dorsey; three sisters, Mrs. Florilla Cooksey of Pekin, Ill., Mrs. Rose Morgan of Memphis and Mrs. Jane Newborn of Booneville; and nine grandchildren.
