Dad loved his family and was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather. He loved fishing and hunting. He would do anything for anyone that needed help. He loved ice skating on Cadle Creek and Rhode River, when the weather was good he would take his dogs in the boat and go up Cadle Creek and out to Rhode River. Just him and his dogs, that was their time. The Cheaspeake Bay & his family was the love of his life. Joseph Impey Dawson was his grandfather, who gave each family member a few arcer's or so of the family land on Cadle Creek and Rhode River. My dad built his home in 1928 with the help of his Uncle "Vannie" Vanorden Thrush Weir, the brother to Isabella Weir Dawson.(His mother) He was on the Anne Arundel County Police Dept. for around 24 years or so. Dad retired from the A.A. CO.,Police Dept in March 1964. My father died on his land on the path to his wharf on Cadle Creek in June 1979. He was born on the same land as well. This land was part of what William Haddaway Dawson owned, who was dad's great-grandfather, known as The Dawson Farm. Dad was only 11 years old when his father died.
