Mary Elizabeth Walker was born in Almont, Lapeer county MI June 27, 1854.Named Mary after her paternal Grandmother Mary Fairweather Walker. Named Elizabeth after her maternal Grandmother Elizabeth Miller Deneen, who was the first woman settler in Lapeer county, MI in 1828.
1st born daughter of Charles Augustus Walker & Anna Deneen.
She was 16 years old when her father died in 1870.
she was 2nd born of 8 children. Siblings are: John J. Alfred A., Mahala,Charles F., Martha Ella, Jasper, and Augusta Walker.
Not too much is known about Mary. She was a "witness" at the wedding of her cousin Abram Fairweather Walker to Mary Elizabeth Witt on July 17, 1870. She married Ezra A. DeFoe about 1872, and shortly moved to Sunnyside Washington.
She died there March 23,( or 31st) 1928 @ 73 years old.
As far as I know, their children are: Maude L. DeFoe, born June 1882, Clara O. DeFoe-Chamberlain born Nov. 1885-d.-1972, Franklin M. DeFoe born Nov. 1887, Charles M. DeFoe born Apr 1897, Shirley, Lester.
