SHELBINA ­
Debbie Patterson, 35, of Shelbina, died at approximately 2:50 p.m. Dec. 17, 1997, at her home after a two-year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Shelbina. Brother Bob Compere and Brother Tom Vanskike will officiate. Burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery in Perry.
Mrs. Patterson was born Oct. 15, 1962, in Hannibal to Eugene and Joanna K. Asquith Moss.
She was married to Stephen Patterson on July 12, 1986, in Perry. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Patterson and Michael Patterson, both of the home; her mother of Perry; one brother, Del Moss of Perry; and one sister, Deanne Moss of Perry.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelbina, where she taught the Young Married Couples Sunday School Class and was a member of the church choir.
She also was a member of the PEO Chapter U and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a leader for Weight Watchers for several years.
Mrs. Patterson was a 1981 graduate of Mark Twain High School in Center. She received degrees from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville in 1983 and the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1989, where she received a bachelor of science degree in consumer affairs.
During the past two years Mrs. Patterson spoke at several churches and at the Shelby County prayer breakfast, sharing her faith in Christ.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Shelbina.
Memorials may be made to the Debbie Patterson Memorial Scholarship fund, in care of Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Mercantile Bank in Shelbina or Perry State Bank in Perry.
