Gail was born on a farm in western Adair Co. to LaVaughn & Dorothy (Miller) Cook. He had two brothers, Larry L. & Ricky L. He lived most of his young life in LaPlata, Missouri and enjoyed horse-back riding and participating in local rodeos. He moved to Newton, IA after his marriage in 1965 to Patricia Cook (dau. of Herbert & Zelma Cook). He had two children; a dau., Lesley Jo and a son, Douglas Allen. He worked all his adult life as a plumbing/heating technician in the Newton area. He passed away at home and is buried next to his mother.
