Mr. I. V. Bowie was born on June 9, 1927. He was the oldest child of the late Mr. William H. Bowie and Mrs. McZillar McGee Bowie. Both parents preceded him in death.

He attended school in Attala County.

He joined the Pleasant Hill M. B. Church in 1947, where he remained a faithful member until his death.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Ethel G. Bailey and Irene Tate both of Kosciusko, MS; two brothers, Oma G. Bowie Helena, AR; and Joe Nathan Bowie Milwaukee, WI; one aunt, Ila Mae (Ester) Nash of Philadelphia, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Suffer little children and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:14

You came into this world as a special child
You left it the same way
God sent you to spread sunshine
for people along the way
I loved you in a special way
deep within my heart
and I'll carry special memories
from those, I'll never depart
So as you take this last journey
to the land beyond the sky
I bid you farewell my dear
But never, never goodbye
