THE COLUMBIAN 1918
Jul 18, 1918
HAMMOND-BEARD
Yesterday evening about seven o'clock Mr. R. W. Hammond, supervisor from the Morgantown district, and Miss Julia Beard, from near Morgantown were united in marriage at the home of supervisor S. T. Wilks who officiated for his colleague. The affair was a quiet one, only a few friends being present to witness the ceremony.
Weather Mr. Hammond attempted to slip one over his supervisor brother or not we do not know, but Mr. Wilks was equal to the occasion, and when he had pronounced the couple man and wife, he led them to his dining room where an ample repast was awaiting them.
Mr. Hammond is one of the leading farmers of the Morgantown section, and a substantial citizen who stands high in the esteem of all who know him: while the bride comes from well known and prominent family of that section. The Columbian, along with a host of friends, extends congratulations and best wishes.
