He was born in Emery Dec. 25, 1907 to James Ernest and Nora Sorensen Larsen. He married Eunice May Olson Feb. 9, 1929 in Price; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He lived his entire life in Emery, and was a member of the LDS Church. Reed began working in the coal mines at an early age. He was a successful farmer, raised cattle, and did custom threshing for many years. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. We will miss him.He is survived by his wife of 68 years; three sons and their wives, Ernest and Francine of Sunset, Clare and Carol of Salt Lake City, and Ralph and Lavon of Sandy; a daughter and her husband, Lora Lee and Norman Behling of Midvale; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Liona Ackerson of Arlington, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Lenna Peterson, Helen Peacock Bradshaw, Elda Peacock and Erna Williams; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Argyle Larsen.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 31, at 3 p.m. in the Emery LDS Chapel, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Emery Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
