Mr. Dedmon was born in Petersburg and moved to Muncie when he was a young man. He served with the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone during World War I. Mr. Dedmon was employed at Warner Gear Company 30 years prior to his retirement in 1960. He was a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club, Eagles Lodge 231, Delaware Post 19 American Legion, and UAW-CIO 287.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Smith Dedmon; one son, Rodney M., Muncie; four grandchildren, Rodney L., Darryl and Michael L. Dedmon, all of Muncie, and Mrs. Larry Twigg, Bryant.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Garrett Phillips, pastor of Main Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7-9 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.
