Beatrice M. "Bertie" Lewis, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Cedar's Health Center after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Prentiss County and a longtime resident of Tupelo. She was retired as secretary for Fook's Chevrolet, Red Hoagland Chevrolet, Dick DeWeese and Frankie Blackmon Chevrolet. She was a graduate of Wheeler High School and Draughns Business College. She was a very active member of Wesley Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 40 years and was involved in the Women's Circle. She was the widow of Percy E. Lewis.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Hershel Wiygul and the Rev. Brian Collier officiating. Burial will be in the Tupelo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include one brother, William C. Morgan of Chesapeake, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Morgan and Gertrude Garner Morgan; two brothers, Robert Morgan and Milton Morgan; and one sister, Mondenia Burns.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Morgan, James Morgan, Lewis Morgan, Ricky Morgan, Dalton Garner, Jerry Burns, Joe Burns and Herschel Morgan.

Memorials may be made to the Baddour Center of Senatobia.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers Tommy Morgan, James Morgan, Lewis Morgan Ricky Morgan, Dalton Garner, Jerry Burns, Joe Burns and Herschel Morgan.
