He wa a native of Celina, Ohio, but had come to Muncie while a child. He attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He was later a glass blower in Terre Haute for several years, and was then agent and assistant manager for the Metropolitan Insurance Co. for the Anderson District.
He moved back to Muncie in 1933, and since then has been associated with the Douglas Insurance Agency and the Bacon-American Co.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie (Braden) Bott; a daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Mary Margaret) Dunn of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Morris of Anderson, and Paul of Muncie; three sisters, Mrs. John (Ida) Coons, Mrs. Eva Bott, and Mrs. Julia Stopper, all of Muncie; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Meeks Mortuary with the Rev. George Harris officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Thursday.
