James A. Hardman
James A. Hardman, 51, who served overseas during World War II, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at his home, 511 Oyster Road after an illness of six years.
During the war, Hardman served as a private first class with a Weather Reconnaissance Squadron in the Pacific Theater. He was discharged September 22, 1945. A native of Pomeroy, Mr. Hardman prior to the war worked as a ranch hand in Wyoming. He was a member of Alliance Chapter 50, Disabled War Veterans and Corp Francis Post 1036, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Kidder Hardman; a sister Mrs. M.K. Young of Alliance; and two brothers, Roy of Alliance and Charles of Parkersburg, W.Va.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home in charge of Dr. W.C. McCallum, pastor of the First Christian Church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Internment will be made in the City Cemetary.
