FRANCIS WIRFS DIES AT PORTLAND SUNDAY; SERVICES PENDING
Death came Sunday to Francis E. Wirfs, 58, who had lived in the Unity district all of his life. Wirfs, born at St. Paul, on April 3, 1887, died in Portland Sunday where he had been for the last two weeks.
Funeral services are pending, under the direction of Macy & Son. The deceased, the son of Susan Schuller and Peter J. Wirfs is survived by his widow, Cora Freshour Wirfs, whom he married in McMinnville in 1910; four sons, Roy of The Dalles, Lyle of Portland, Theodore of the navy and Leo of Dayton; five daughters, Dorothy Grouth of Taft, Lucille Evans of Lafayette, and Gladys Biechel, Elsie Wirfs and Dona Rae Wirfs, all of Dayton.
Also surviving are Pete Wirfs of Dayton and William Wirfs of Portland, two brothers; and Mrs. Elizabeth Pfeifer of Portland, a sister. His nephews will be the pallbearers.
