"Ruth Fihn, 78, Braham, died Sunday, Oct. 30 at Memorial Hospital, Cambridge. Ruth Fihn, daughter of Anders and Alida Aaron, was born on Jan. 12, 1905 in Passaic, NJ. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in Rush City. She also graduated from Rush City High School and then attended the University of Minnesota, after which she worked as a reporter for the Minneapolis Star and the Minneapolis Journal. On May 12, 1928, she was united in marriage to Dr. L.J. Fihn and they first lived in Halstad, MN. In 1946, they moved to Braham, where they had since lived. Mr. Fihn passed away on May 4, 1967 and she continued to live in Braham. She is survived by two sons, David of Detroit Lakes and Richard of Dalton, MN; three grandchildren, Mark, Lisa, and Loreli; other relatives and many friends. Ruth was a member of the Braham Evangelical Lutheran church and many other community organizations at the time of her death. Memorial services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m. from the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Dean Gevik and Rev. William Ingman officiating. The congregation sang 'Lead Kindly Light,' 'When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,' and 'Abide With Me,' accompanied by organist Paul Wrege."
