Troy Lee Cook, age 43, of Elmer, Mo., passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at his home.
Born October 11, 1966 in Quincy, Illinois, he was the son of Herbert Thomas Cook, Sr. and Zelma Oreva (Stewart) Cook. On December 4, 1988 in LaPlata, Missouri, he married Angie Baker who survives.
Also surviving is his mother Zelma Cook of Gifford, Mo.; three daughters, Courtney Ballew of LaPlata, Allyson Cook of LaPlata, and Haley Cook of Elmer; five sisters, Patty Purvis and husband Terry of Kellogg, Ia., Fran Tipton and husband Larry of Elmer, Debbie Broadus of LaPlata, Lori Ross and husband Chris of Bevier, and Lisa Shultz of LaPlata; five brothers, Tom Cook of Gifford, Kenny Cook of Gifford, David Cook of Kirksville, Daniel Cook and wife Kathy of Gifford, and John Cook and wife Barb of Unionville, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lily Bugh of LaPlata; his brother-in-law and great friend David Baker of Elmer and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father and one sister, Peggy Ann Swann.
Troy lived most of his life in the LaPlata area. He had been employed by the City of LaPlata for 13 years. Troy enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, gardening, arrowhead hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elmer Baptist Church.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His sense of humor and personality could light up any room he was in.
