Edwin was the sixth of eight children of Chauncy G. and Charlotte Huntley Arnold. Edwin was married to Harriet Ardella Prosser on 20 Apr 1865 and they had three sons, Fredrick Eugene (Fred E), Franklin Ruthvin (Frank), and Calvin Arthur but changed his middle name to Ruthvin like his fathers. This family went to Kansas with others as pioneers in a covered wagon and helped found Syracuse, Hamilton Co. KS. On the way back home to NY, Edwin died in KS.
