Bufford Edward Winegeart, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in Amarillo.
Private burial will be in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.
Bufford was a generous and compassionate person who left an indelible impression on the lives of all of those who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. Bufford was also a loyal friend and was always quick to offer a helping hand. He was an extraordinary example of how to love thy neighbor and live life to the fullest.
He preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Shelton Winegeart; and two brothers, Murl and Billy Winegeart.
Survivors include a sister, Rubye Davis of Marshall; his soul mate and loving wife of 62 years, Fannie Joe Winegeart of McLean; his daughter and son-in-law, Meloney Dyer and Richard of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001; or Mclean EMS P.O. Box 16, McLean, TX 79057-0016.
