SAN DIEGO -- Addison Edwin Walter, 88, of San Diego, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, Calif.
He was born March 26, 1914, at New Castle, Colo.
He worked for Consolidated-Vultee, then for Sears Roebuck for more than 25 years as a salesman and manager in plumbing and building materials.
He was a charter member of the Pacific Beach United Methodist Church.
He was active in the Boy Scouts and served as a Scoutmaster.
He participated in Pacific Beach Little Theatre and volunteered in many civic activities.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Walter of the home; a son, Robert Walter of Pittsburg; and a half-brother, Lowell French of Torrance, Calif.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today at Pacific Beach United Methodist Church in San Diego.
