Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, 1978, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst, Colorado, for Albert G. Behrens, who passed away July 6 at a Denver Hospital.
Pastor Gerald Werth officiated at the services. Interment was in the Amherst Cemetery. Austin Funeral Home of Julesburg was in charge of arrangements.
Albert G. Behrens, a long time resident of Sedgwick County, was born June 29, 1898, on a farm near Altona, Nebraska. He was the son of Gustav and Albertina Behrens. He grew to manhood in this eastern Nebraska area.
He was united in marriage to Martha Friedrich on March 15, 1922 at Norfolk, Nebraska. They made their first home on a farm in the Amherst-Venango community near Venango, Nebraska, where he resided until his death.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Amherst.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Leota) Burns of Denver and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Eunice) Prottsman of Venango, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Prottsman, Marlon Prottsman, Rory Prottsman and Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Linda) Reimer, and three great grandchildren.
