Then, after 18 years of missionry work in mining camps,lumber camps,and destitute churches in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, he and his family returned to Anderson County...R.E. Booker made visits in every home in the community, had prayer, and Bible reading, with the families. At his own expense,he placed Bibles in 25 homes that were without reading matter of any kind...."
