Rickey Shane Parks, 13, of Corinth, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at LeBonheur Children's Hospital as the result of an accident on July 10, 2001.

Services were Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at Thrasher Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Merritt and Dr. Randy Bostick officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Corinthian Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 29, 1987. He was an eighth grade student at Alcorn Central Middle School where he played safety on the Golden Bears football team (#39). He was a member of the FCA and the Science Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Vernon Hunting Club. He was a member of Thrasher Baptist Church where he gave his heart to the Lord on Feb. 18, 2001.

He is survived by his father, Shane Parks of Booneville; his mother, Angela Lambert Parks Corinth; a brother, Justin Parks of Corinth, his special friend and cousin, Logann Christian of Booneville; aunts and uncles, Tony and Dana Christian, Jenny Parks, all of Booneville, Eddie and Joan Lambert of Corinth, Randy Eason of Stuttgart, Ark.; cousins, Paul and Christy Eason of Dewitt, Ark., Phillip Eason of Dewitt, Ark., Adam Lambert of Corinth and Shalee Christian of Booneville; his grandparents, Carroll and Betty Parks of Booneville and Ed and Norma Lambert of Corinth; and his great-grandmother, Lafoy Parks of Booneville.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bro. W. E. and Liddie Sharp, Glasford Parks, all of Booneville, James Otis and Mary Smith of St. Charles, Ark., and W. H. and Noel Lambert of Booneville; one uncle, Rickey Eason of Dewitt, Ark.; and several great-aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers were Justin Parks, Josh Ross, Josh Davis, Josh Harville, Dusty Price and Eric Davis. Honorary pallbearers were the eighth grade football team at Alcorn Central Middle School.
