GEORGETOWN, SC - Mary Chandler Bruorton, 86, widow of C. Lloyd Bruorton, died Friday, March 18, 2011, at Somerby of Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Bruorton was born June 6, 1924, at Henry in Williamsburg Co. , a daughter of the late Benjamin James Chandler and Eva Estelle Eaddy Chandler.
She was a retired employee of Lawrimore and Seitter Farm Supply. Mrs. Bruorton was a longtime member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the Francis Asbury Church School Class.
In addition to her husband of sixty years, Mrs. Bruorton was predeceased by: three brothers, James Milton Chandler, Benjamin McCray "Jack" Chandler, and Jay Carlisle Chandler; two sisters, Zuline C. Harmon and Estelle C. Crawford; and her beloved stepmother, Beatrice Campbell Chandler.
Surviving are: two sons, Charles Burton Bruorton (Sue) of West Columbia and Benjamin Atkinson Bruorton (Annette) of Columbia; a daughter, Eva Marie Bruorton Isaac (Kevin) of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, James Dodd Daniel (Margaret) of Florence; seven grandchildren; Charles Lawson Bruorton; William Bradley "Brad" White, Jr.; Robert Chandler "Chad" Bruorton; Mary Bruorton Sides (Andy), Jeff Britton Bruorton, Ryan Elias Isaac, and Paul Benjamin Isaac.; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Chandler Sides.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, March 21, 2011, at two o'clock in Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. G. Edward Usher. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from one until two in the Family Life Center of the church. Burial will follow in Union United Methodist Cemetery in the Rhem's community of Georgetown Co.
