Donald Lamar Carter, a much loved Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, Uncle and Friend was born on September 1 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Sharper Carter Jr. and Lillie Pearl Ball, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the second of eight children raised by their Aunt and Uncle Susie and Bill Carew.

Donald attended school in the Compton Unified School District. He was the first Black Drum Major at Compton High School where he graduated.

Donald served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he worked as a fireman then later as a Copier Repair/ Service Technician for 30 years.

His passions were the Creative Arts, Music, both listening and playing, Photography, Computer programs, Reading for knowledge and having the latest tools and gadgets.

In 1972 Donald met the love of his life and soul-mate Beryl Kendrick. They were inseparable for 37 years until his death.

Two of his siblings preceded him in death - Delores Lydia and Brenda Doxie.

Donald leave to cherish his memory his loving wife Beryl, five children Mark Carter and wife Wendy, Edward Carter, Donetta Carter, William Kendrick III and wife Lorenza, Marcus Carter. Seven grandchildren William Kendrick IV and wife Jessica, Brittany Kendrick, Lauren Kendrick, Na'ilah Kendrick, Christopher Carter, Adam and Sarah Carter, Three great-grandchildren Moneece, Dominic and Aleczander Kendrick; Five siblings Gildria Lemays, Janice Woods, Jerome Carter and wife Betty, Yolanda Carter and Marnard Carter, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
