Meningitis Claims 19-Year-Old Youth
James Lyman Barclay, 19-year-old son of Mrs. Irene Stansberg, died at 6 o’clock Wednesday evening in Decatur and Macon County hospital. The young man had been in the hospital only one day, and had been seriously ill only since Sunday. Death was caused by meningitis.
James Barclay was born April 8, 1906, in Decatur, and had made his home either in Decatur or on the family farm three miles north of Decatur all his life.
He leaves, beside his mother and his step father, a sister, Alice Barclay, and a brother, Clifton.
The body was taken to Moran & Sons to be prepared for burial.
