FRANCES SECELIA (BENTLEY) ALSIP, was born May 7, 1877 at Milledgeville, Ill., and died Wednesday, August 31, 1904 at the age of twenty-seven years, three months and twenty-four days. She was married to Millard S. Alsip, August 3, 1895. To this union were born three children, Harold Leroy, John, and Irene Lecra. She leaves to mourn the loss, her husband, three children, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Bentley of Milledgeville, Ill., and nine brothers and sisters, Clarence C. of Polo, Ill., William of Azusa, California., Alton of Reed City, Michigan and Sarah A. of Morrison, Ill., George W. of Freeport, Ill., James E. of Chicago, Ill., Henry H. of Morrison, Ill., Carrie W. Stowe of Morrison, Ill., and Horace H. of Rock Falls, Ill. There wer eight brothers and sisters who proceeded her in death. The funeral services were held at the house Friday afternoon at two o'clock and were conducted by Rev. J. W. McKitrick of the M. E. church, who took for his text Isaiah 40.6.8. A large congregation of sorrowing friends met to pay their last respects to a beloved sister, neighbor and friend. Many beautiful floral offerings were given as a token of friendship and love for the departed. A very pretty floral design was tendered by the High School Alumni as a last expression of love for one of their number. The deceased was a consistent member of the M. E. church. She was also a member of the W. R. ___ and Royal Neighbors, who likewise mourn the loss of one of their number. Music was furnished by Charley Johston, Wallace Fike, Mrs. Ray Freas and Miss Hazel Goldthorpe. The pallbearers were Messrs. H. E. and Wallace Fike, H. D. Bills, M. R. Bernheisel, R. W. Durstine and Frank Muller. The remains were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery south of town there to wait the resurrection morn.
